31.2 percent of Elmira College students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 31.2 percentage of Elmira College students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Elmira College has 938 undergraduate students, of which 71 percent are women and 29 percent are men, and a total student body of 1,012 students. Of these students, 155 men and 161 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at Elmira College with the most participants are ice hockey (52), lacrosse (47) and soccer (42).
