About 36.6 percent of the 680 degrees and certificates handed out by Bard College in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Annandale-On-Hudson conferred 147 bachelor's degrees and 100 master's degrees in visual and performing arts programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general social sciences. Data shows the school gave out 153 bachelor's degrees in general social sciences, followed by 136 bachelor's degrees in general fine/studio arts and 90 bachelor's degrees in biological and physical sciences.
The college enrolled 2,293 students for 2017-18, including 1,938 in undergraduate programs and 355 in graduate programs.
