Graduates earn 2,539 degrees, certificates from Mercy College


About 25 percent of the 2,539 degrees and certificates handed out by Mercy College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Ferry conferred 304 bachelor's degrees and 280 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general social sciences. Data shows the school gave out 224 bachelor's degrees in general social sciences, followed by 197 bachelor's degrees in general health services/allied health/health sciences and 189 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management.

The college enrolled 9,506 students for 2017-18, including 6,864 in undergraduate programs and 2,642 in graduate programs.
