
About 52 percent of the 3,814 degrees and certificates handed out by CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2017-18 were to students in homeland security, law enforcement, firefighting and related protective services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in York conferred 1693 bachelor's degrees and 183 master's degrees in homeland security, law enforcement, firefighting and related protective services programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in criminal justice/law enforcement administration. Data shows the school gave out 1337 bachelor's degrees in criminal justice/law enforcement administration, followed by 481 bachelor's degrees in forensic psychology and 272 bachelor's degrees in criminology.
The college enrolled 14,834 students for 2017-18, including 12,916 in undergraduate programs and 1,918 in graduate programs.
