Graduates earn 7,272 degrees, certificates from Stony Brook University


About 21.9 percent of the 7,272 degrees and certificates handed out by Stony Brook University in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Brook conferred 784 bachelor's degrees and 484 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general health services/allied health/health sciences. Data shows the school gave out 462 bachelor's degrees in general health services/allied health/health sciences, followed by 430 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 417 bachelor's degrees in general psychology.

The university enrolled 25,989 students for 2017-18, including 17,364 in undergraduate programs and 8,625 in graduate programs.
