98 percent of applicants to the Culinary Institute of America were admitted for fall 2018


At the Culinary Institute of America, 82 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Hyde Park enrolled 2,990 students in fall 2018, including 2,956 in undergraduate and 34 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

17 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 69 percent are residents of other states. 13 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (47 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (16 percent).

The school admitted 98 percent of the 1,035 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 47 percent enrolled.
