44 percent of applicants to Monroe College were admitted for fall 2018


At Monroe College, 68 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 61 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private for-profit institution in Bronx enrolled 6,386 students in fall 2018, including 5,568 in undergraduate and 818 in graduate programs, data shows. 33.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

80 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 11 percent are residents of other states. 9 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (42 percent) and Black or African American (41 percent).

The school admitted 44 percent of the 6,717 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 43 percent enrolled.
